Government has implored the church to help in the promotion of national values among Zambians in order to sustain love, peace and reconciliation in the nation.
Northern Province Permanent Secretary Charles Sipanje says the good values and morals that the church has been preaching is helping greatly in promoting oneness in the country.
Mr. Sipanje said government will not relent in its efforts of advocating for peace and unity among Zambians in order to enhance to national development.
Mr Sipanje said this in Kasama today in a speech read on his behalf by Deputy Permanent Secretary Davison Mulenga during the Induction Service for Deaconess Charlotte Chisenga as a Social Worker for the United Church of Zambia (UCZ) Kasama West Consistory.
The Permanent Secretary noted that it is very difficult for the country to witness unprecedented infrastructure development in the absence of peace and unity among Zambians.
And United Church of Zambia Northern Presbytery Bishop Maybin Mulenga has reiterated the church’s commitment to partnering with government in delivering social services to the people.
Bishop Mulenga explained that the UCZ has continued to enjoy warm relationship with government as seen from the collaborations in various aspects of human endeavour.
He further challenged the newly inducted Social worker go out in the community and help in the needy in different households.
