Luanshya District Commissioner Joel Chibuye says the construction of the Fifty Five (55) police houses in the district are progressing well with excellent workmanship.
And Mr.Chibuye has warned disgruntled opposition political party leaders to stop frustrating government projects by issuing alarming statements that the AVIC workers who are constructing police houses should down tools due to non-payments which he said is not the case.
Speaking with ZANIS in a telephone interview today Mr.Chibuye says the construction of the 25 police houses in Luanshya central and 30 in Mpatamato township are going on well adding that the ones in Luanshya central are expected to be handed over to government by next month.
Mr.Chibuye said the contractor has already connected electricity and sewer lines and are currently doing external and internal paintings which he said are the final stages
He said the ones in Mpatamato Township will be handled over to government by next year April as they are currently at roof level.
Meanwhile, Mr.Chibuye has strongly warned that he will not tolerate any person who wants to take advantage of innocent youths by inciting them not to report for work because of a misunderstanding.
Mr.Chibuye said that a named opposition political party incited workers not to report for work because of the copy of contract which the workers were not given.
The DC instructed AVIC to give all the workers their contract forms which the company has done and workers reported for work on Monday
Mr.Chibuye has since appealed to the workers and the residents in general not to tolerate such alterances that are aimed at disturbing government programmes
