The first Zambian Governor for Bank of Zambia ( BOZ ) Justine Zulu has donated 270 thousand Kwacha towards the construction of a one by three classroom block at Chanyanya Primary school in Kafue district.
Dr. Zulu made the donation towards the project as part of his community social responsibility.
Speaking at the handover ceremony yesterday, Dr Zulu said he funded the project so that more children will have access to education in the district.
He said this is because every child should be accorded an opportunity to have education.
And Kafue District Commissioner Joseph Kamana commended Rd. Zulu for his gesture.
Mr. Kamana said in a speech read on his behalf by the District administrative officer Josephine Phiri , it was pleasing to note that Dr. Zulu continues to support government even after retiring from his official duties.
He advised other members of the public to emulate the First Bank of Zambia Governor’s gesture in order to supplement government’s effort in providing quality Education in the country.
The new classroom block will help create additional class room space at the learning institute which has over one thousand pupils so far.
