A local businessman in Kabwe has offered his grader to work on more than two kilometers stretch of road in Bwacha compound in a bid to plough back to the community.
Joseph Moyo, who is also Moyo Farms Director, said the status of most roads in Kabwe and Bwacha Constituency in particular, are in a bad state which need attention.
He said government alone could not manage to work on all the roads hence the need to supplement its efforts.
Mr Moyo explained that he was approached by Kabwe District Commissioner (DC) Dominic Mulenga to help work on the road which he said is key in service delivery in the area.
And Kabwe DC Dominic Mulenga has thanked Mr Moyo for the quick response to help work on Bwacha road which had developed potholes which has made it impassable.
Mr Mulenga said such partnerships were cardinal to the development of the country as government alone could not afford to do everything for the people.
The Kabwe DC has implored the business community in Kabwe to emulate what Moyo Farms was doing in order to develop the road infrastructure in the district.
Meanwhile, residents have expressed happiness for the gesture by Moyo Farms to work on the road in the area saying it was long overdue.
Charity Shanzi said the roads were in bad shape and needed a face lift to promote easy movement of goods and services in the area.
Another resident, Vincent Ngalika, called on the local authority in Kabwe to constantly work on roads and not to wait for them to deteriorate.
