Chieftainess Waitwika of the Namwanga speaking people of Nakonde district in Muchinga province has called on Zambians to embrace the spirit of love and forgiveness if the country was attain meaningful development.

Speaking during the Umutomolo traditional ceremony 2018 Fundraising Braii in Ndola, the traditional leader said an environment where its inhabitants are not united, development is a nightmare.

She also called all Namwanga’s across the country to rise to the occasion and ensure that the fourth coming traditional ceremony is successfully hosted by rendering the much needed material and financial support.

Meanwhile, the Chieftainess has commended the Ndola based Namwangas for turning out in numbers during the Fundraising Braii, further stating the spirit of togetherness exhibited should continue.

She said the spirit of oneness and tolerance among her subjects is the only way a colourful and successful umutomolo traditional ceremony could be hosted.

ZANIS reports that Prior to the fundraising braii in Ndola where over K50, 000 was realized, the National Organising Committee hosted similar events in Lusaka and managed to raise K157, 000.

The Umutomolo traditional ceremony will take place in August in Nakonde at Ntongo village at Chieftainess Waitwika’s place.

And Chifubu Member of Parliament Frank N’gambi who was guest of honour said the people of Ndola are geared to render the much needed support in ensuring that a successful ceremony is hosted.

Mr N’gambi also said there is need for the road between Isoka and Chinsali to be upgraded as it significantly contributed to development of the Nation.
