Kasama Golf Club President Peter Sinkonde says proper maintenance of sports infrastructure is cardinal for the growth of sport in the country.
He said the good outlook of sporting facilities motivates people to actively participate in various sport disciplines.
Sinkonde told ZANIS in Kasama today that his committee has embarked on the rehabilitation of the Kasama Golf Club at a total cost of 400, 000 thousand kwacha.
He said this is in order to ensure that the golf club in good condition and avoid letting the sport facility slid into dilapidation.
Sinkonde noted that the status of the golf club has not been attractive enough to encourage people to join as well as use the facilities.
He however expressed optimism that once rehabilitation works are done the face of the facility will be changed for the better.
And Sinkonde has thanked government for its continued commitment and support towards varies sport disciplines in the country.
