A 33-year-old man of Itezhi Tezhi district in central province has appeared in court for allegedly raping a 47-year-old woman.
Christopher Ndhlovu, a farmer who resides in Fube village in Ntapa area in chief Kaingu’s chiefdom in Itezhi Tezhi district in central Province stands charged with rape contrary to laws of Zambia.
Ndhlovu has pleaded not guilty to the offence and Magistrates Keggan Litia has recorded a plea of not guilty.
The case has been adjourned to Friday for trial.
Particulars of the offence allege that Ndlovu on 26 July 2018 at Itezhi Tezhi in Itezhi Tezhi district in central province had carnal knowledge of Fridah Muyambo without her consent.
Last month, The Itezhi Tezhi Magistrates Court committed a 26-year-old fisherman to high court for sentencing for raping a 41 year-old fish monger.
The court convicted Gracious Muzambwe following corroborative evidenced brought before court by the prosecution.
