Copperbelt Province Minister Japhen Mwakalombe has commended Management at Ndola Teaching Hospital(NTH) for observing maximum cleanliness at the institution.
ZANIS Ndola reports that the Minister said this when he made an impromptu tour of the institution.
Mr Mwakalombe further commended the institution for introducing a colour-coded screening of patients’ process which ensures that cases are dealt with in the shortest possible time with emergency cases being given priority.
And NTH Senior Medical Superintendent Dr Joseph Musowoya informed the Minister that the hospital has made strides in the malaria mortality rate by reducing the rate from 172 to 157 per 1,000 cases in the 2017-2018 calendar.
Dr Musowoya further reported that the hospital has also recorded a slight reduction in TB cases.
Meanwhile, Mr Mwakalombe has bemoaned that currently only two elevators are working at the hospital and has since directed management to work on all elevators that are not working.
