Stanbic Zambia has affirmed its commitment to supporting the successful hosting of the Copperbelt Investment Expo (CIE) whose date is yet to be set.
Stanbic Zambia Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Leina Gabaraane said this today when he paid courtesy call on Copperbelt Province Minister, Japhen Mwakalombe in Ndola today.
Mr. Gabaraane said the bank is more than ready to partner with the provincial administration in ensuing that a successful investment Expo is hosted.
ZANIS reports that the Stanbic CEO stated that the Investment Expo is an outstanding idea which he said should be fully supported.
He has urged the CIE organising committee to work extra hard and insure that all tourism and agricultural potential the Province is endowed with is exposed.
Mr. Gabaraane said Stanbic Bank is part of the Zambian economy hence, the need for the commercial bank to support such initiatives and ensure that the economy escalates to other levels.
He further stated that his organisation is also committed to rendering its support to the mining sector which he said is the backbone of the economy.
The Stanbic Zambia CEO said despite all plans to diversify the economy, the mining sector should not be neglected as it is the driver of all economic activities in Zambia.
Meanwhile, Copperbelt Minister Japhen Mwakalombe said Stanbic Bank has immensely contributed the growth of the country.
The Minister said as part of the service industry, Stanbic Bank has hugely been contributing to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Mr. Mwakalombe said the Copperbelt Provincial team is already in talks with its partners from Katanga and Gauteng regions to ensure that the market for would be and already existing investors is able to thrive.
