Solwezi District Commissioner Rosemary Kamalonga has today handed over a water reticulation system and staff toilet at a cost of K121, 451 at Muzabula clinic in Solwezi.
ZANIS reports that Ms Kamalonga said the construction of the water reticulation system shows government’s commitment in providing quality health services for all without leaving anyone behind.
And the district commissioner who was expected to hand over Kandundu Foot Bridge in Solwezi during the same function declined to do so due to poor workmanship.
Ms. Kamalonga who was scheduled to hand over the foot bridge constructed at a cost K21,791 under the constituency development fund said the work done is not worth handing over to the community as it will easily be swept away with the rains.
She said such works portray a bad picture of government as if it is not working yet money is being spent but misused.
Ms. Kamalonga instructed the constructors, Aggitec Manufacturing and Supplier, to meet with her at the office.
Speaking at the same event, Muzabula Community Chairman Handwell Muzabula commended the government for providing the community with a water reticulation system at the clinic.
Mr. Muzabula said the cry for the water system has finally been heard and assured the district commissioner that it will be guarded jealously.
