Chipata City Council Football Club has started FAZ Division One on a bad note after they were beaten by Zesco Malaiti Rangers by 2 goals to nil.
Goals from Everisto Chisenga and Moses Phiri in the 80th and 90th minute respectively were enough to separate the two sides in a match that was played at DK Stadium in Chipata on yesterday.
And speaking immediately after the game, Zesco Malaiti Rangers Coach Wilson Mwale expressed happiness with the team’s performance especially in the second half.
Mwale said his team will not relax and will take each game seriously.
He said an away win was a good start for them and will now concentrate on the next game.
Mwale said their opponents played well but the problem is that they were playing a lot with the ball especially in the midfield and his players capitalized on that.
Meanwhile Mwale expressed disappointment with the officiating of the game as they were denied a clear goal from a corner.
He said there was nothing wrong with a goal which was scored in the 65th minute as it was a free header from a corner kick.
And Chipata City Council Football Club Coach Harrison Ngoma said he was impressed with the performance of the players despite not scoring.
Ngoma said his team has conceded defeat and will work on their weaknesses and assured the fans that the team will bounce back.
He said he was not happy with the behavior of some fans who were criticising him for the loss.
Ngoma said fans should not lose hope because the league has just started.
